How to get to Chalet Heidi, Scheffau

Location:

Chalet Heidi is in the picturesque village of Scheffau, at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains and has excellent access into SkiWelt - Austria's largest ski resort and sunmmer wonderland.

Scheffau lies roughly midway between St Johann and Wörgl on the B178.

The village is actually 1km north of the main road and well sign posted.  Go through the village passing the church to your left, with the Guest House Maikircher directly in front of you.  Take the right turn to the right of the guest house.  Follow the road around and take the 2nd exit on the right.  Chalet Heidi is at the end of the lane.

Flights are changing all the time:  In the winter there are more scheduled flights with the above low cost airlines.  Booking these at the best price is a bit of an art, but very cheap flights can be purchased at most times.  In the summer there are fewer scheduled flights, but places on charter flights become available closer to the season. We are happy to help you search for flights and give our recommendations.

We cannot guarantee the accuracy of the above information, but we do try to keep it up to date. Airlines are increasingly vague about future routes and have, sadly, discontinued a couple of key routes for this coming winter season.  Munich airport is due to announce its winter schedules in November - very useful!!

By Car (detailed instructions available on request)

From Salzburg: From the airport travel S.W. on the B178, entering Germany for a time and back into Austria, follow the B178 towards St Johann. In St Johann head West to Scheffau, still on the B178. (time 65 mins)

From Innsbruck: Pick up the A12 motorway east all the way to Wörgl (vignette required).  Leave at Wörgl and follow signs to Soll or St Johann on the B178. Scheffau is shortly after Soll.  (time 70mins)

From Germany: You can reach Scheffau from Germany without having to pay any toll fees. If you leave the motorway at junction Kufstein Süd, you drive approx 12 km on the B173 ("Eiberg-Bundesstraße") in the direction of "Felbertauern, St. Johann". After 9 km you will find yourself on the B312 ("Lofer-Bundesstraße"), from there you need to drive another 3 km beside the Wilden Kaiser mountain range until you get to Scheffau.
